The Blue Jays Earn World Series Meeting Versus defending champion Dodgers

The Toronto Blue Jays reached their maiden Fall Classic after the 1993 season by defeating the Mariners in the seventh game seven of the ALCS.

Trailing 3-1, outfielder George Springer smashed a three-run homer in the seventh frame, leading the only Canadian franchise in MLB to a 4-3 victory in the best-of-seven series. They will now face the Dodgers, holders of the current crown, in the forthcoming Fall Classic.

"I'm just so happy for our team, our city, Canada," Springer stated, a key player of the Houston Astros team that secured the 2017 World Series. "This is such an incredible feeling."

The veteran has now hit 23 total post-season home runs, ranking him third all-time behind Ramirez (29) and Altuve (twenty-seven).

"It's hard to imagine anyone else anywhere that I'd prefer in that moment other than him with his post-season brilliance," noted Schneider.

Seattle, who had led the series 2-0 and 3-2, are still the one club that has never reached in a championship series.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson stated "certainly that it's painful" after his club's elimination at their home ballpark, but commended their performance this season.

"It's a special team. Sadly that we finished on the wrong side of this game," he added.

The Blue Jays won the championship on their two prior appearances in the early 90s, and are set to host the Los Angeles in game one on the upcoming Friday.
