Trevoh Chalobah Expected to Replace Guehi in England Squad

Trevoh Chalobah followed his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the 21st pair of siblings to be selected for the England side.

The Chelsea defender is set to join up with the Three Lions selection to fill in for injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is due to join the squad for England's final World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, but it has yet to be confirmed.

The Three Lions have already secured qualification for next summer's World Cup.

Chalobah earned his first call-up under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then made his debut against Senegal.

In September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unlucky to be omitted from the selection for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and also didn't call him up for the following October international break.

Tuchel has been an important influence in Chalobah's progress, having awarded him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.

Chalobah has appeared in nearly all fixtures for Chelsea this season, with the club occupying third spot in the Premier League, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the league phase of the European competition.

Guehi suffered a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League success over AZ Alkmaar recently.

There are set to be other inclusions to the squad. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will withdraw from the squad.
