While Sunbathers Ran From Danger, Viral Image Depicts Rescuer Dashing ‘Full Speed’ To the Location.

Alexandra Ching, someone who has spent her entire life as resident of Bondi, views the famous shoreline as her back yard. On that fateful weekend evening, she, similar to other others in the area, detected pops ringing out across the community.

An Iconic Image of Courage In the Wake of Crisis

The photo that Ching snapped of the rescuer, later named as Jackson Doolan, was widely shared as a prime example of instances of courage in the wake of the terror attack.

Andy Reid, a fellow lifeguard, explained that Doolan, referred to as “Jacko”, sprinted from Tamarama beach to assist the rest of his team at Bondi, as well as to help other rescuers, officers and paramedics treating numerous the injured.
